2027: Matawalle leads Tinubu's endorsement for APC Presidential ticket


Former Zamfara State Governor and Minister of State for Defence, Mohammed Bello Matawalle, on Saturday led thousands of supporters in his hometown, Maradun South ward (Runfar Makaranta) to reaffirm support for Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The event, which witnessed a massive turnout of APC faithful, saw party members publicly endorse President Tinubu’s second-term bid while participating in the party’s ongoing political activities at the grassroots level.

Speaking during the gathering, Matawalle expressed confidence in the electoral prospects of President Tinubu and APC candidates across the country, predicting decisive victories for the ruling party in the 2027 polls.

He described the large turnout of supporters as a reflection of the strength of democracy and growing public confidence in the APC-led administration under President Tinubu.

The minister further maintained that the people of Zamfara State remain committed to the APC and fully supportive of the Tinubu administration.

He also expressed optimism that the party would record sweeping victories in all elective positions in the state and beyond during the forthcoming elections.

Customs FOU Zone ‘B’ Cracks Down On Smugglers Of Endangered Species

*Unit intercepts live pangolins along Kano–Jigawa axis The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone ‘B’, has intercepted two live pangolins being illegally transported along the Kano–Jigawa axis.   This was disclosed in a statement signed by the  CPRO  FOU Zone B, CSC NA Saidu, made available on Tuesday.   It informed that the arrest occurred on March 12, 2026 at about 10:00 hours. Operatives of the Unit, during a stop-and-search operation, flagged down the vehicle as part of a proactive enforcement sweep.   The seizure was effected pursuant to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), an international agreement that prohibits trade threatening the survival of wild species.   Upon interception, the animals were secured in appropriate cages and conveyed to the FOU Zone ‘B’ headquarters in Kaduna.
