Five 6ft Players Discovered As Musa Rifkatu Foundation Beach Volleyball Camp Ends In Kaduna



No fewer than five female players above six feet tall were discovered  from the Musa Rifkatu Foundation Beach Volleyball Camp which ended in Kaduna on August 23, 2026.


The camp which  lasted for eight days from August  to 23 at the  Murtala Square Kaduna, saw a total of 15 potential players from all over Nigeria, attend.


They were  introduced to what is beach volleyball and how to play the game.

After the training,  participants were presented various  gifts from the foundation which includes, sports bags with sanitary towels, high quality beach volleyballs, nets, and antennas, as well as certificate of participation.


The coordinator of Musa Rifkatu Foundation, Mrs Chioma Odili  during her presentation of gifts to the girls, admonished them to remain focused and avoid social vices that will have a negative impact on their sporting career. 

President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Engr Musa Nimrod in his farewell speech to the girls, also encouraged them to take their education serious and to keep training whenever they have the opportunity. 

He also said that  they are the future generation and they should emulate Esther and Pamela, the duo that qualified Nigeria for the Olympics by being consistent. 

During the camp,  the chairman Beach Commission, DCP Stephen Hasso visited them and encourage the girls with monetary gifts.  


He charged on them to be ambassadors of beach volleyball in their locality by training on sand whenever they find a court.

The discovery of the five 6 feet tall girls  into beach volleyball for the first time in Nigeria's history, is expected to boost  the country's fortunes in the game.
